It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rodney Dunlap, who left us on April 4, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on September 10, 1950, to Roy and Effie Dunlap, Rodney lived a life filled with simple joys and a love for the things that fuel life's greatest moments.

Rodney was a proud graduate of Amarillo High, and anyone who knew him recognized his genuine passion for cars. His love for car races and driving his truck brought him immeasurable joy and embodied his straightforward approach to life. Rodney was a devoted father and a doting grandfather, who treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren, Bailey and Nolan Dunlap.

He is survived by his loving sister Gayla Seaton and her husband Don, his sister Patricia Avent and her husband Jack, his daughter Heather Dunlap and her husband Daniel Burtram, and many cherished family members. Rodney joins his beloved parents, Roy and Effie, his sister Karletta Alsdurf, his son Josh Dunlap, and his nephew Billy Jack Avent in eternal peace.

Rodney was a man of few words but of great warmth, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
