Ronald was born on April 13, 1959 to Jack and Delima Atwood. He was raised in Topeka, KS as 1 of 6 children, graduating from Topeka, KS. He moved to Amarillo, where he met his wife, Diane Fox and they were married on June 20, 1994. Ronald worked as a truck driver for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Fox of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Diane Stedman of Grand Prairie and Barbara Deneault of Nebraska; brother, Larry Atwood; step children, Cynthia Borden and husband Leon of Colorado, Phineas and Branna Riddley of Oklahoma and Mark Fox, Jr. of Amarillo as well as 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
