Ronald "Ronnie" Gene Gunter joined his beloved wife Betty in Heaven in the late evening of September 20, 2026 in Amarillo Tx.

Ronnie was born October 13, 1951 to Louise (Glidewell) Gunter and JC Gunter in Borger, Texas, and he grew up in Phillips with his brothers Johnny and Jerry, and graduated from Phillips High School and went on to receive a bachelor degree from West Texas University.

Ronnie married Betty Anderson January 1, 1982, and together they had two children, Amanda and Jordan, that they raised in Betty's hometown of Fritch, where Ronnie called home until his passing. His kids and his wife were the light of his life and his whole reason for living. He never made a promise he didn't intend to keep and he was the best dad anyone could ever hope for, and an adoring husband who taught his daughter what she needed in a man. The one thing in life he wanted more than watching his kids thrive as adults was to join Betty in Heaven.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and JC, his brother Johnny, his father in law Leon Anderson, his beloved wife Betty, and Betty's brother Billy Anderson. 

Left to carry on his memory, his love, and his corney sense of humor are his two children, Jordan Gunter of Amarillo, Texas, and Amanda and her husband Daniel Keeney of Fritch, Texas, his brother Jerry and wife Katie, sisters in law, Alice Gunter and Pam Anderson, his mother in law Jewell Anderson, and one brother in law, Robert Anderson and wife Margaret.

 He had many caregivers over the past several years and while we may not be able to name them all, we are forever grateful for them loving our daddy like we did. 

A celebration of life will be held from 2-4PM on October 3 in Ballroom B at the Dome in Borger Texas and anyone who loved Ronnie is more than welcome to come by.
