It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roy "Brent" Burnett, a beloved father, talented welder, and dedicated friend, who left us on November 11, 2025, at the age of 55. Born on November 8, 1970, in Dalhart, Texas, Brent lived a life full of adventures, moving around as a child in places like Hawaii and the Caribbean before finally settling back in Borger.
Growing up on a farm and working in restaurants, Brent learned the value of hard work and how to care for animals from an early age. He was raised in Texline, later moving to Borger, where he graduated high school in 1989. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Army, completing two tours before his honorable discharge. Brent lived in Plainview, working for Buster Smith between tours. He settled in Texline, NM, following his second tour, where he worked alongside his father at Roustabout Sprinklers for many years. He eventually moved to Pampa, where his talents as a welder truly shone. He worked for Flowgistics, followed by many fulfilling years at Bob Douthit Autos, tackling even the most challenging projects with skill and enthusiasm. Here, he gained a second family he truly loved and appreciated.
Brent was known for his generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. Music was his way of connecting with the world, and he often used lyrics to express what words alone couldn't. Above all, Brent lived for his kids, pouring his heart into every moment spent with them.
He is survived by his children, Donnie "Bug" Burnett of Pampa, TX, Athan Burnett of Littlefield, TX, Clifton Zander and Marilu "Ava" Burnett, both of Sedan, NM; girlfriend, April Warren of Sedan, NM; 2 brothers, Eric Waide of Texline and Billy Burnett and wife of Lubbock; aunts, Peggy Ward of Shawnee, OK and Gayle Morris of Panhandle, TX; close nieces and nephew, Shelby Burnett of Pampa, TX, Tanner Burnett of Eldorado, KS and Jericah Kent of Amarillo as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins left to cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Atha Burnett and sister, Stacy Adams.
