It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruben Torres, age 51, of Amarillo, Texas, who departed this life on July 4, 2026. Ruben was born on October 6, 1974, in Memphis, Texas, to the late Ruben Torres Sr. and Ramona (Cobos) Torres. He is preceded in death by his beloved sister, Veatrice Torres, and his cherished grandparents, Victor and Esther Cobos, and Jorge and Octaviana Catano Torres.

Ruben leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife, Shannon Torres, whom he married on April 18, 2009. He is also survived by his children: Angelic Cornell, Carolyn Cornell, and Ruben Torres III; siblings Marcie Torres and Marcel Torres; and a legacy of grandchildren including Desiree Torres, Matthew Tiger, Alexandria Torres, Alexis Torres, Bryston Dunn, Zriah Dunn, Jaleyah Moore, Xaven Norman, Kalisi Torres, Elyes Torres, Davion Alfaro, Victoria Miramontes, Luis Junior Valdez, Dream Alfaro, and Hawaii Alfaro.

Ruben was a man of great spirit, known for his love of football, particularly the San Francisco 49ers. He was cherished for his sense of humor, fondness for card games, and his passion for singing. Above all, he adored his family, embracing every moment spent with them.

Ruben's memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He touched the lives of many with his kindness and joyful spirit, and he will be greatly missed.
