Rudy "Sapo" Avila, 55, of Amarillo, Texas passed away Monday, August 5, 2024.

Rudy was born on June 17, 1969 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Antonio Avila and Elsie Valerio. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in June of 1988. Rudy married Donna Avila in 2008 and they shared 5 years of marriage until her passing in 2013. Rudy enjoyed going to the movies and watching on television football, wrestling and baseball. He liked to try his luck on scratch off lottery tickets. Rudy loved spending time with family, especially his Mom and Dad playing Yahtzee, Monopoly and other board games.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Donna Avila; his beloved mother, Elsie Valerio Avila and three brothers, Lupito Avila, Ricky Avila and Pee Wee Avila.

Rudy is survived by his father, Antonio Avila Sr.; a sister, Marie Avila and four brothers Antonio Avila Jr., Fernando Avila, Jesse Avila and Jacob Avila.
