Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Northrup, who left us at the age of 73.  Born on February 7, 1952 in Oklahoma City, OK, Sandra moved to Amarillo as a child and attended Highland Park High School, she then followed her passion for beauty by attending cosmetology school.

Though she wore many hats throughout her career, Sandra spent most of her life working in the restaurant business as a cook and waitress.  Her friends and family knew her as a hard-working woman who was always ready to whip up a meal or share a laugh over a game of cards or dominoes.  She was a devoted lover of music, especially country music and the classic sounds of the 60's, which often echoed through her home.

When she wasn't working or listening to her favorite tunes, you could find Sandra casting a line on a fishing trip with family and friends or curled up with a copy of National Enquirer, her guilty pleasure.  Her beloved dogs were her constant companions, bringing her joy and comfort throughout the years.
Sandra will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  We know she'll be smiling down on us, probably calling out the next card to play.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Donita Kenemore and Tina McAvoy and husband Dale of Amarillo; mother, Madonna Smith of Amarillo; sister, Judy Russell of Amarillo; close nieces, Diane Goddard and Lyn Juneau; many nieces, nephews and cousins; her 2 beloved dogs, Tazzy May and Queen Bug and her grand dog, Bobo.

She was preceded in death by husband, Sonny Northrup; father, Bill Titus; brother, Danny Bruce and sister, Linda McClure.
