Obituary

Scott Brim, 56, of Amarillo passed away on August 21, 2024.

Scott was born on March 8, 1968 in Denton, Texas. He moved to Amarillo as a child, where he graduated from Amarillo High School in 1986. He then enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1988. Following his discharge, Scott returned to Amarillo. Scott was a fighter at heart. He was diagnosed with cancer three different times, beating it each time. In between his battle with cancer, he met Ronda Ploog, whom he married in Houston in 1993. Together, they enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, mountain climbing and biking. Scott was known to be an adrenaline junkie, who loved the thrill of fast cars and had aspirations of being a pilot. He was a people person, known to be able to sell anything to anyone, a trait that helped him as a car salesman and later a financial advisor. Above all, Scott loved his family and cherished being a "Pop-Pop", a father and a loving husband.

Scott is survived by his wife, Ronda Brim of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Liberty Brim and husband Daniel Poage and Madison Phillips and husband Casey, all of Amarillo; mother, Diana; 3 sisters, Niki Taylor and husband Tommy of Flower Mound, TX, Becky Howard of Amarillo and Juli Witt and husband Doug; 3 brothers, R.L. Brim and wife Mo of Arizona, BJ Howard of Amarillo and Rex Howard of Dallas and 5 grandchildren, Ava and Walker Poage and Brody, Hadley and Charli Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Brim and his brother, Russell Howard.
