It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sonji Alexander, aged 58, who departed this life on July 28, 2025. Sonji was born on May 7, 1967 in Amarillo, Texas, and was a cherished daughter, beloved wife, and devoted sister.
Sonji is preceded in death by her father, Guss Alexander. She is survived by her loving husband, Michael Willhelm, her mother, Patricia Alexander, and her siblings: Sheryl Alexander Travis, Stephanie Alexander, Steven Alexander, and Guss Alexander. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she found immense joy in their companionship.
A proud alumna of West Texas A&M University, Sonji earned a master's degree in mass communications, a testament to her keen intellect and passion for storytelling. Throughout her life, she cultivated a deep love for music and was an enthusiastic coffee connoisseur. An avid writer, Sonji used her words to inspire and connect with others, leaving an indelible mark on those who knew her.
Sonji was a member of the Church at Quail Creek, where her warm spirit and kindness touched many lives.
Sonji and Michael were united in marriage on March 15, 2014, creating a partnership filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 2nd 2025 at the Church At Quail Creek , where family and friends will come together to celebrate Sonji's remarkable life. We invite all who knew and loved her to honor her memory and share their cherished moments with her.
