Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Steven James Barham Sr., who departed this life on July 21, 2026, at the age of 65. Born July 2, 1961, in Amarillo, Texas, Steven lived a life characterized by hard work, resilience, and profound love for his family.

Steven dedicated many years of his career to serving as a maintenance supervisor for several esteemed companies in Amarillo. His strong work ethic was evident from a young age when he assisted his family by delivering flowers for his mother's flower shop after school. This early experience reflected the caring heart that continued to define him throughout his life.

He found joy in the simple pleasures—boating, fishing, and restoring classic vehicles were among his favorite pastimes. Some of his most cherished moments were spent in Eagle Nest, New Mexico, where he relished the opportunity to fish, relax amidst the mountains, and listen to the soothing sound of rain. Steven also treasured the time spent with family in Sherman, Texas; those gatherings, filled with shared meals and heartfelt stories, were the cornerstone of his happiness.

Steven possessed a remarkable talent for negotiation, earning him respect and admiration from friends and family alike. Never one to shy away from a deal, he would often seize an opportunity for the perfect bargain, demonstrating both passion and pride in his knack for making the best arrangements.

Among his greatest companions was his beloved puppy, Coconut. Their bond was profound; Coconut brought Steven endless joy, comfort, and companionship, and this love was apparent to all who knew him.

Above all, Steven's greatest love was reserved for his family. He cherished his children and grandchildren, making the choice to retire early so he could devote more quality time to them. As "Pappy," he made memories that they will hold dear for a lifetime.

Steven James Barham is preceded in death by his parents, William and Emma Barham, and sister Christine Barham. He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Fitzsimmons and husband Jerry, Brooke Barham, Brittany Farrar and husband John; sons, Jonathan Barham, Steven Barham; eight cherished Grandchildren, and sister, Susie Roberts; along with many extended family members.

A Memorial service will be held in his honor at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church on August 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

Steven will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, his passion for the outdoors, his cherished time with loved ones, and the unconditional love he shared with his family. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
