Tammy Jurado Estes, 66 years old, of Amarillo, entered heaven surrounded by loved ones on July 9, 2024.
Tammy had a gentle spirit, often misunderstood by many, but those who knew her saw her for who she truly was and loved her deeply. Her kindness and creativity left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a way of bringing joy and laughter into our lives, whether through her witty jokes or her amazing artistic talents.
Tammy attended Sunrise Elementary, Bowie Middle school, and Caprock High School, and Amarillo College where she studied Fine Art. In her youth, Tammy was an accomplished athlete, she loved playing softball and excelled in track and field. Tammy was a unique and creative person, she was a gifted artist. She expressed her joy of life through her beautiful paintings, drawings, ceramics, and calligraphy. She had a way of capturing emotion through the graceful and carefully chosen words of her poetry. Tammy's incredible taste in music was a reflection of her vibrant personality. She composed music, she loved playing the guitar and expressing herself in songs. Tammy expressed her unique style by collecting finely crafted jewelry, she especially loved silver and turquoise. Tammy had a deep connection and natural love for animals. Tammy cared so much for her family and friends, she held a special place in her heart for each of her loved ones.
Tammy loved The Lord Jesus with all of her heart, and followed him through her Messianic Jewish faith. Tammy knew that Heaven is her home.
Tammy had an extraordinary ability to see beauty in the simplest things and to transform them into something magical. Her gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and boundless creativity will always be remembered and cherished.
We will forever hold her close in our hearts and treasure the memories we shared. Tammy, you are loved beyond words and will be missed more than you can imagine.
She was preceded by her parents Arturo Jurado and Iris Warnell Jurado, her brother, Arturo Jurado II, her Aunt JoAnne Staton.
She is survived by her sisters; Teresa Schult, Cynthia Rushing, and Kathy Solis; her former husband Darrell Estes, her aunts; Clara Smith and Joyce LeCouter; her nieces and nephews; Sephra Stephenson, Seth Paredes, Mika Paredes, KaCee Solis-Robertson, Jentry Pruitt, and Ethan Solis, Joseph and Joshua Schult; and her great nieces and nephews; Bellaxandra Stephenson, Maelie, Mace and Jett Pruitt, Wesley, Ace, and Jolie Schult.
The family would also like to acknowledge and extend gratitude to the Coming Home Project of Amarillo and Tammy's compassionate and dedicated caseworkers Robert Ballin and Heather Neely.
A Memorial Service will be held in the fall in Amarillo and will be announced to loved ones by the family.
