It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Theresa Garst Byers, born on January
24, 1965, who left this world on December 16, 2025. Theresa was a beloved mother, sister, and
friend, whose vibrant spirit and boundless creativity touched the lives of all who knew her.

Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved parents, father Richard Garst and mother and
step father, Donna and Maurice Cunningham. She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength
through her children: Nik Garst and his wife Jordan Garst, and Keaton Byers. Theresa was a
proud grandmother to Marcus and Myles Garst, who brought her immense joy. She is also
survived by her dear sister, Jan Hall, and her brother Butch Garst, along with his wife, Helene.
She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

A proud graduate of Tascosa High School, Theresa dedicated her life to her craft as a
seamstress, channeling her creativity into everything she made. She was an avid crafter and a
passionate music lover, finding joy in the melodies that accompanied her life. Her deep love for
her family was paramount, and her involvement in her sons' lives was a testament to the
unwavering support and love she provided. Theresa was a devoted fan of all things Disney and
had a particular affection for playing volleyball in her early years.

In her life, Theresa was known for her generosity and willingness to help others, often giving
anything she could to those in need. Everything made by her hands was crafted with love,
leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held in her honor, January 3rd 2026 at 2:00PM at Crossroads Country Church 14425 FM 1541 Amarillo, TX 79118. The family invites all who knew Theresa to join in celebrating her life
and the love she shared.
