Thomas Joseph Erickson, 59, of Amarillo, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Tom was born on June 25, 1965 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey to John James and Ann Elizabeth (Bates) Erickson. Tom graduated from Middlesex County Vo- Tech in New Jersey.

His hobbies included carpentry, woodwork, working with his hands, building RC cars and watching NASCAR races. Tom enjoyed listening to music, spending time at the lake, camping activities and grilling steaks; which his family considered him to be a master at! He was the 6th of 8 children in his beloved family. Tom loved spending time with his kids, family, friends and especially his handsome grandson, Maverick.

Tom was a proud father of Alexis and Nicholas as well as a beaming grandpa to Maverick. Those 3 along with Jamie were the light of his life. Jamie has been by his side for 20 years. He was a great father, husband, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him. Tom worked for Wiley Hicks building and installing cabinets. He was the best of the best, nothing but 100% was acceptable for him. Tom worked in new office buildings, school campuses, additions, new car dealerships and many banks. He was always helping family, friends and his community. Tom was a talented craftsman working with his hands. The family finds comfort in knowing Tom's family greeted him with open arms in Heaven.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ann Erickson; two sisters, Ann Richerson and Ellen DeVito; two brothers, John and Bill Erickson; his beloved father-in-law, James Mullane and two brother-in-law's, Bill Burlew and Johnny DeVito.

Tom is survived by his wife, Jamie Avara; one daughter, Alexis Erickson; one son, Nicholas Erickson; two sisters, Maureen Burlew and Sharon McPherson and husband John; a brother, Mike Erickson; his amazing grandson, Maverick Glover; many nieces and nephews; his former wife, Tina Erickson Heider; two mother- in- laws, Emma Turner and Carolyn Coleman; two sister-in-law's, Christina Wilborn and wife Mirna Reyes; three brother-in-law's, Shaun Richerson, Jim Mullane and wife Kim and Christopher Wilborn and wife Danna.
