Obituary

Thomas Lynn Hall

July 23, 1949 – October 29, 2026

Lovingly known to his family and friends as Thomas, Daddy, Grandpa, Uncle Lynn, or "Cowboy," Thomas passed from this life at the age of 77 on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at his home in Amarillo, Texas.

Thomas was born on July 23, 1949, to Alvie Mae (Prescott) Hall and Ruben Thomas (RT) Hall in Quanah, Texas, but was raised in Childress, Texas. He spent most of his life in either Childress or Amarillo.

Early in life, Thomas lived in Childress, married young, and welcomed four beautiful children: Jeffery Thomas, Ronald Dean, Christi Kay, and Christopher Lynn. He worked primarily for the railroad but held several other jobs throughout his life.

Later, Thomas moved to Amarillo, where he married his wife, Cynthia Ann (Hayes) Hall. They shared 34 years of marriage before being separated by Cindy's passing. In Amarillo, Thomas worked for the highway department, along with various other jobs.

Thomas had always wanted to join the military and fight for his country, but unfortunately, he was turned down. Although disappointed, he remained deeply patriotic and found his own way to serve. As many soldiers returned home physically or mentally injured, Thomas made it his mission to help them. Never one to meet a stranger, he worked his way into their lives by simply being there for them, listening to their stories, helping them move on to other subjects when needed, and taking them to doctor appointments, the grocery store, and wherever else they needed to go. He did this for many veterans throughout his life, showing his appreciation and support in his own special way.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben Thomas (RT) Hall and Alvie Mae (Prescott) Hall; his brother, Reuben Clinton (RC) Hall; his brother-in-law, Johnnie Lee Lott; and his wife, Cynthia Ann (Hayes) Hall.

Thomas's legacy continues through his sister, June (Hall) Lott of Childress; his four children: Jeff Hall of Amarillo, Texas; Ronnie Hall and wife Amanda of Amarillo, Texas; Christi and husband Danny Prado of Childress, Texas; and Chris and wife Holly Hall of Childress, Texas; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members.

Thomas's funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Amarillo on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 11am, followed by burial at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo at 12:45pm.
