Thomas David Redding “T-Pa”, 73, of Amarillo, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, August 2, 2026. He was born on July 10, 1953, in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Thomas Edward and Deloma Irene Armstrong Redding.

T-Pa was known to all as a safe space, always dependable and reliable. He was never known to have a temper, his sense of humor was known by all, and he loved and knew everyone. If you had to sum T-Pa up in five words they would be humble, patient, transcendent, curious, and sagacious.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife; Debra Cummins Redding of Amarillo, his daughter; Celestel Wheeler and spouse Karesa Spalding of Amarillo, sister; Rhonda Aveni and husband Jim of Clarendon, Texas, grandchildren; August Sanders and husband Kyle of Amarillo, Stormie Wheeler of Amarillo, Zachary Redding of Amarillo, and James Wheeler of Amarillo, and one great-grandson; Xander Bridges of Amarillo.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Thomas Edward and Deloma Irene and many beloved friends.

Cremation has been entrusted to Shafer Mortuary Funeral Home of Amarillo.
