Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Weldon Ray Wright, who left us on April 11, 2025, at the age of 80. Weldon was born on July 3, 1944, in Eldorado, OK, and lived a life full of adventure and love.

As a young man, Weldon was drafted into the Army at the tender age of 17 and bravely served his country in the Vietnam War. After returning home, he dedicated over 35 years to working as a truck driver at PANTEX, making countless friends along the way. Weldon was known for his outgoing personality, always ready to crack a joke or share a story over a cold beer. He loved dancing and spending time with friends on the patio, never missing a chance to enjoy life.

Weldon was also known for his stubborn and hard-headed nature, traits that only endeared him more to his family and friends. He is survived by three daughters, Kemra Wilkins of Clarendon, TX, Sonya Jolly and her husband Randy of Stratford, OK, and Jennifer Giles and her husband Josh of Amarillo. He is also survived by three sons, Glenn Wright and his wife Trina of Clarendon, TX, Randy Allen of Amarillo, and Chad Wright and his wife Lauren of Tucson, AZ. Weldon cherished his time with his beloved sister, Nelta Baker and her husband Don of Klamath Falls, OR.

He leaves behind a legacy of love in the form of 14 grandchildren: Dylan, Cameron, Chelsea, Alicia, Bryan, Paul, Tyler, Michael, Ali, Caitlyn, Bryce, Kiara, Arianna, and Bradley, along with 7 great-grandchildren.
