Obituary

William "Bill" Richard Heider, 64, of Amarillo passed away on November 21, 2024.

Bill was born on August 8, 1960 in New London, CT to George and Gwenda Heider. He moved to Amarillo in 1975, where he graduated from Tascosa High School in 1979. Bill worked in HVAC for 40+ years, employed with Heart Industrial and Acton Mechanical for nearly 20 years respectively. After spending many wonderful years together, he married the love of his life, Tina Mullane Erickson, on October 24, 2015.

Bill was a lover of all sports, and an avid Green Bay Packers fan. You could always find him in his man cave watching sporting events, where anyone and everyone was always welcome. Bill had such a big heart for his family and was a father figure to not only his kids, but to many of his nieces and nephews. He was an amazing cook and enjoyed catering to his many friends and family. He often enjoyed riding his Harley, which usually ended with a beer at Smokey Joes. No matter the circumstances, Bill never turned down a challenge. You might catch him doing a dangerous skateboarding trick or jumping off the waterslide and belly flopping into the kiddie pool, where he got his nickname " Wild Bill". Bill was a man with many roles and several lives. He had a contagious smile and was a magnet when it came to making friends and having a great time. He was always the life of the party, bringing fun and laughter everywhere he went. Above all, Bill loved his family and cherished being "Papa" to his grandchildren who were the light of his life and kept him young. To know Bill was to know love.

Bill is survived by his wife Tina Erickson Heider of Amarillo; 2 sons, Dillan Heider, wife Lauren and Nicholas Erickson, all of Amarillo; 2 daughters, Devan Price, husband Joshua and Alexis Erickson, all of Amarillo; 3 brothers, Kenneth Mike Heider and wife Camille, Timothy J. Heider and Steven Shawn Heider, all of Amarillo; grandchildren, Ronyn Price, Elle Heider, Charlotte Heider and Maverick Glover; sister-in-law, Christina Wilborn and spouse Mirna of Hurst, Jim Mullane Jr. and wife Kim of Amarillo and Christopher Wilborn and wife Danna of Amarillo and many nieces, nephews and family friends left to cherish his memory.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gwenda Heider; brother, Robert Marx Heider and sister, Jane Ann Heider.
